We've got rigorous quality control - not so much a formal procedure but we all have attention to detail with respect to the little things as well as the big things. Products we finish up that have a little ooops like a skipped stitch, we save in our "family and friend" bin cause it's not quite perfect yet it's still freakin awesome and could be well loved and used. Rather than sell these "not quite perfect" products, this holiday season for every order over $100, we're going to send them out as gifts from us to you. Enjoy.

Cool eyeglass cases for men seem to be in short supply and, they've been on the request list for a couple of years. We're working on carbon fiber soft eyeglass cases to keep your shades or reading specs safe and styling. Hopefully, we'll have a sampling up before the holidays.

We've made a production run of our new GoPro Camera Stow Bag; they are officially posted!
09.26.2012
The first prototype of a RAGGEDedge GoPro Stow Bag for the camera and whatever assorted attachement and goodies you have is done! Everyone liked the concept, style, and usability altho we tossed around ideas for adding more SHOCKtec gel padding without compromising the lightness and flexibility of the bag. The next step is to make another prototype incorporating the modifications. I feel pretty confident about this so I think I'll make this next GoPro Stow Bag in Carbon Fiber with lime color accents so we can use it :-)

The last week of August and the first week of September, the RAGGEDedge crew careened across country for another epic adventure to experience Burning Man 2012. Once again it was an amazing experience. We had just received our GoPro along with an assortment of attachments and goodies so that little camera was the record keeper. It's an amazing camera, I'd recommend it anyone and everyone. Crystal clear pics, panoramic shots, and video fun too. What we learned was that we needed to make a RAGGEDedge GoPro bag to carry all the camera with all the assorted accessories and, another smaller bag that would clip on your camelback, manbag, or belt for quick use when biking, climbing, or rock crawling.

It's been three weeks that we've been running RAGGEDedge off grid - Hank's custom solar powered Cushman art car is even more efficient that projected. Dream to reality. As a company and as individuals, we keep working towards reducing our carbon footprint but going off the grid was one of those "someday" projects on the list that happened way sooner than we ever could have imagined. Time to raise the bar.

Thanks to Hank, RAGGEDedge is now sewing on the sun! Seriously. Solar Power runs all our machines, lights, and chargers. On a three wheeled Cushman meter maid vehicle, Hank built a solar powered art car to play his beats, music that is. During the day, we run RAGGEDedge off his solar car :-)

The checkbook cover has been flying out of here. Surprising. It attracted so much attention that we had quite a few people ask us about making a checkbook wallet. Why not? It might surprise us too.
05.08.2012
Back by request, enter a remake of the mini wallet: a minimalistic little wallet with two card sleeves that folds in half like a mini bifold wallet. We've fielded so many requests for this little wallet we decided to tweak the design a bit and offer it again. Look for them to be posted by the end of the week.

We have Kindles. After having them for only a short while both Mud and I discovered that we really wanted a cover with an integral light for nighttime reading. The choices are pretty slim. I have a keyboard kindle, she has the basic one w/out a keyboard so we ordered different covers. The cover for the keyboard kindle is a heavy fake like leather but it's pretty sturdy. The integral light cover for the basic kindle feels like covered cardboard (cheesy comes readily to mind); it doesn't really feel like any kind of protection for daily use much less for pack and carry adventures. Having only purchased these covers because they offered lights for evening reading, we elected to create padded kindle sleeves.
for those situations when we take our kindles with us places.

Official Press Release | New Product: Carbon Fiber Guitar Straps
RAGGEDedge Gear now makes carbon fiber music accessories.
RAGGEDedge Gear, a company that specializes in making carbon fiber and Kevlar accessories, such as bags and wallets, has recently expanded its offerings to include carbon fiber guitar straps.
The carbon fiber cloth they use is sailcloth, adapted to bring high strength, low stretch, and lightweight to the high performance sailing world. The carbon fibers are woven and then sealed with a UV resistant resin to make a flexible, glossy finished, waterproof cloth. All of which makes for a sweat proof, stink proof, sexomatic guitar strap.
The strap is initially offered in two colors, all black, and black with red; as well as a leather end and vinyl end option for vegans. The Carbon Fiber Guitar Strap costs $65 and is currently available for sale through their website www.RAGGEDedgeGear.com.

We've had kevlar thread in stock for a while... and we've been promising a kevlar wallet sewn with kevlar thread. Yesterday we finished a batch of kevlar bifold id wallets made entirely with kevlar thread; today they're posted here . The journey to completion was a bit rocky tho as we learned how to work with kevlar thread. Kevlar thread doesn't melt. Kevlar thread is awesomely difficult to cut. Makes for spectacular thread that's for sure. The Dabond thread we routinely use is a top of the line industrial thread - not to many folks use it due to it's expense. Kevlar thread, beats that hands down. Too bad the real deal is always a gold color, it's not as product friendly as black. Oh well.

And today's the first day of another fabulous year... We've had a week of visiting with family and friends along with daily adventures like hiking the Buffalo, hiking McAfee's Knob and mountain bike riding. Fun stuff. That means the RAGGEDedge crew is ready to rock and roll tomorrow and start working down the build queue of products that are out of stock due to holiday sales.

We're cranking right now... sewing and shipping. In the midst of all that, yesterday Mud cranked out a couple of checkbook covers. Checkbook covers? Really? Yup. 18 months ago, before our move to Floyd, I thought checkbooks were history. I was wrong. We use a checkbook. A lot. As it turns out, in the realm of small communities, checks are preferred over debit and credit cards. Not to surprising since depositing a check doesn't cost store owners any money while credit cards charge up to 3% of each sale.

Carbon Fiber guitar straps... an idea suggested by Hank. We thought it was a pretty spectacular idea so as a test case, he made one for his electric guitar. It's awesome... something to consider if you're looking for a unique look for your guitars.

After fielding many many requests for adding a grommet to one of our trifold wallets, we've added a selection of trifold chain wallets to our lineup. check 'em out...

The prevalent ongoing topic of conversation these days has revolved around what new products to introduce in the next month... as always we've got a number of requests for particular items as well as ideas we've dreamed up. First on the docket is a file folder that's closed on two sides. A bit simpler than our pocket folders it'll offer you an easy in easy out stash place for paperwork in carbon fiber and kevlar.
9.08.2011
We've made the leap... we've committed to go to the Winter 2012 Outdoor Retailer show in Jan in Utah. It's a big deal :-) It will be our first national exposure, yeah. We have no idea...
8.31.2011
We've got help :-) And that's totally exciting... Hank West has joined our crew, and he's strutted his attention to detail whilst being our goto guy for all stages of products in progress. He's been fabulous help getting thru our backlog in the build queue this month, we are stoked to have him on board. Maybe we can get to that Kevlar wallet with Kevlar thread that we've been dreaming of...

August is a busy time of year here at the RAGGEDedge workroom and we are cranking right along. If you've perused our site recently you will probably have noticed that we are out of stock of quite a few items right now. We are working as fast as humanly possible to remedy this situation, but the list is long. If the item you want is out of stock, know that by placing an order for it, we move it up on our priority list so that we can ship it to you ASAP.
8.04.2011
Kevlar thread? Yup, that's our newest tweak to our already awesome gear. How cool is that? We're thinking our first products sewn with Kevlar thread will be a limited edition Gold Kevlar/Aramid bifold wallet and a limited edition Gold Kevlar/Aramid velcroless trifold wallet... look for them soon
5.26.2011
Carbon Fiber iPad sleeves are finally back in stock. We have them in standard black and if you like things a little spicy: black and LIME
Plus, we are on a mission to make some carbon fiber and kevlar belts. We've wanted to for a long time, and we've decided that NOW is the time. It might take us a while to work through prototypes and such, so check back in September or October for the release.
5.15.2011

Without further ado, these best sellers are finally ready to ship! Snap one up while you can.
